The 6th Discipline

Management & Advisory

When a business is underperforming, or struggling to go to the next level, the answer starts with the strategy and is sealed by execution.

I work with owners, boards and investors as Interim Manager, Strategic Advisor and Non-Executive Director, with mid-market companies facing a turnaround or a step change in scale.

My approach comes from hands-on experience in leading a business out of serious distress. I laid out my decision-making framework in the book The 6 Disciplines of Leadership — How to run your company like a tight ship (2022). The 6th discipline — self-deployment — is about how leaders rise to the occasion. Running my own practice reflects that.

Companies run "like a tight ship" have a clear understanding of their goals, their challenges and their opportunities, and communicate effectively, so that the stakeholders are focused, action-oriented and aligned.
